Wheelchair Ramps

A wheelchair ramp lets you get in and out of your home safely — over porch steps, entry thresholds, and grade changes — without construction. No contractors, no permits, no torn-up porch. The ramp we install goes together from modular sections, which means it’s fast to set up and can be reconfigured or removed later if your needs change.

Who ramps are for

Anyone who uses a wheelchair or scooter full-time, anyone recovering from surgery or an injury who needs a chair temporarily, and caregivers who are done hauling a loved one (or a heavy power chair) up the front steps. Ramps are also the answer when the issue isn’t the stairs inside the house — it’s getting through the front door in the first place.

Modular vs. portable: what’s the difference

  • Modular ramps are aluminum sections that bolt together into a permanent-feeling ramp — with railings, platforms at the door, and a surface that works in all weather. They look and feel like part of the house, but they don’t attach to the house the way a built wooden ramp does, so they can be taken apart and moved.
  • Portable ramps are lighter, fold-up or solid panels for short rises: a threshold at a doorway, a single step, or a ramp you take with you in the vehicle. Good for temporary needs and tight spots.

The no-construction advantage

A wooden or concrete ramp is a construction project: permits, a contractor, weeks of work, and a permanent structure you’re stuck with. A modular aluminum ramp typically goes in within days of your decision, meets accessibility guidelines for slope and railings, and comes back out just as easily — which matters if you’re renting, if the need is temporary, or if you want to take the ramp with you when you move.

Buying vs. renting

Purchasing makes sense for a long-term need — the ramp is yours, installed once, done. Renting can make sense for a short-term recovery or a situation where you’re not sure how long the need will last. We’ll give you a straight read on which option fits your situation during the free evaluation.

Waiver-funded jobs

Many of our ramp jobs are paid for through home-modification waiver programs rather than out of pocket. We handle those jobs regularly and know the process: what’s usually covered, what documentation helps, and how to keep things moving. If you’re exploring waiver funding, tell us during the evaluation and we’ll walk you through it.

What we install

We install EZ-ACCESS modular and portable ramps — aluminum systems that go together quickly, hold up in all weather, and meet accessibility standards. Every ramp job starts with a free in-home evaluation: we measure your entry, figure out the right length and layout for the rise you have, and give you a firm price before anything is ordered. Installation is typically done in a day.

With over 20 years of experience in home accessibility, we’ll tell you honestly whether a ramp, a stairlift, or something else entirely is the right fix for your entry.
